Cambodia and Rwanda are exploring expanded trade and investment ties, highlighted by a proposed memorandum of understanding (MoU) between their national chambers of commerce to bridge Southeast Asian and African markets.
The discussions occurred on Thursday during a meeting between Cambodia Chamber of Commerce Director-General Ngoun Meng Tech and Rwanda’s Seoul-based Ambassador to Cambodia, Bakuramutsa Nkubito Manzi.
During his third visit to Cambodia, Ambassador Manzi commended the nation’s infrastructure and economic growth. He proposed formalising the chamber partnership via an MoU during the upcoming Francophonie Summit, targeting cooperation across agro-industry, textiles, rice, and real estate.
Additionally, Ambassador Manzi invited the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce to lead a business delegation on an upcoming trade mission to Rwanda.
Director-General Meng Tech welcomed the initiative, noting that the partnership will help Cambodian enterprises leverage Rwanda as a gateway to African markets while granting Rwandan businesses preferential access to ASEAN economies.
